There is no way you could learn any useful spanish from this CD. It is not worth it. I wouldn’t pay a dime for this horrible product. Don’t waste your money.

This product leaves you to educate yourself. The first CD (Level 1 – Disk 1) has a word list, an “easy game” a more difficult game and some other material. There is no suggestion as to how you are to use these materials or proceed through the “lessons”. It is a stretch to call them lessons since that suggests some degree of organization.
I give this product one star because you can not post a rating of zero

I am not a cruel person, but in all honesty I must tell the readers that this is the worst language course I can imagine. It is not at all comparable to the Rosetta Stone series as it so emphatically claims. There is nothing interactive or immersed about “Total Immersion Spanish Levels 1,2,3.” Even the included DVD that is said to be interactive is not at all interactive. In the so called interactive DVD, a man speaks in Spanish on screen, and a woman answers him in Spanish on screen. THE STUDENT DOES NOT INTERACT!
Each disk included in this set opens a page with a list of English words and phrases. The user is to start the page by clicking on start. Then a man alternates with a woman speaker pronouncing the word or phrase in Spanish for each line that is printed in English (without even showing Spanish text). The student does not input his/her own pronunciation for comparison or accuracy. Problems occur as the program very often drops down two or even several lines and the speakers speak all the words and phrases at the same time. This is not only a poor teaching method, it is bad work by the Programmers.
This language teaching set boldly compares itself with the RosettaStone series. For this reason I must give a rough description of how RosettaStone works. In a lesson Rosetta Stone may display a picture while a language speaker pronounces word or words relating to the photo. As a lesson progresses the student must see the picture and pronounce into a provided microphone the appropriate words describing it. Alternately, the student is asked to pick the picture that corresponds to a phrase. At other times the student is to speak a series of phrases that describe a series of pictures. Later in the lesson set, the student may be asked questions in the language under study and the student is supposed to respond appropriately in that language. All the time, the program is analyzing the students progress and presenting appropriate steps for future learning. This kind of teaching is what interactive means! “Instant Immersion . . .” does not work at all this way.
Can anyone learn Spanish with this method? Yes, but it would be very discouraging using this defective software program.
Did I call for support? No, I did not. Telephone support is not available. Instead, a support website is listed on each CD. Going to that website, I am greeted with a disclaimer stating that they are a distributor of third party programs. The website offers a solution set that covers only such things as refund request, replacement due to missing disks, and such.
I realize a lot of work went into making this language set (and more so, the impressive packaging). But the producers are clearly not sufficiently educated to undertake such a project. My giving it even *ONE STAR* is too generous. Instead, I should scream “Ahhhh” in their faces!

The manufacturer has packaged the product to look just like the Rosetta Stone product but it is not the of the same high quality. Of course, it’s also significantly less money than Rosetta Stone. It is difficult to write a review of a foreign language teaching software within a short time frame from receiving it because learning any new language is going to take a lot of time and practice, irregardless of the method.
I have reviewed many of the modules of this software and I also own several Rosetta Stone language programs. When one is learning a foreign language, particularly adults, as we do not learn like we did in our youth, we need every possible tool to help us. This software is strictly an audible program. Unlike Rosetta Stone, there are no visual aids to assist the student. For someone like me, this is a significant drawback. It really comes down to “you get what you pay for”. I cannot strongly recommend this method of learning simply because I know there are better methods (e.g., Rosetta Stone) available. If I’m serious about learning a language, I’d prefer to spend $300 and get something that will, with my time and practice give me results, than to spend $50 on something that does not give me a well rounded package of tools in which to learn.
I also feel their packaging is deceptive as they make their package look like Rosetta Stone and they use the term “Instant Immersion” which is a “spin off of the Rosetta Stone term “Dynamic Immersion”. I guess in business, plagiarism is acceptable practice.
