I just bought the game for $50.00, There is only 1 reason for the one star and that is because it is a TURN BASED game. In this world of super computers and graphic cards I am not sure why it ended up like this. I was expecting something a long the lines of Rise of Nations, But what I got was “Conflict”. If you were around in the first Nintendo days you know what game I am referring to. The Turn Based war game back in the early 90′s. It’s ok to still make a turn based game ( I don’t know why you would want to ) but wow charge $50 for it. Just want to let people know this is not a RTS so don’t buy it if that is what you are looking for.

Definitely a step back from Civ 3. Very disappointing compared to the earlier version.

I originally bought Civilization III, and was instantly addicted. I found myself playing late into the night and looking forward to my next fix. I assumed that Civilization IV would be an improvement on the game I already love. I fould that they had improved the graphics and the number of play options, but it resulted in the game slowing down dramatically. To finish Civilization III typically takes me at least 10 hours. With the increase in time for each turn in Civ IV, I may never finish a game. I had to ask for my copy of Civ III back from my brother-in-law, and offered him the new Civ IV…. he didn’t want it either.
Save your money, and time, and find a copy of Civ III, a GREAT game!
